Dr. Justin Lavallée, DVM Msc, DACVS-SA
Dr. Lavallée is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, Small Animal. He graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) in 2016 and completed a small animal rotating internship at the Veterinary Emergency Center in Toronto, Ontario, in 2017. Dr. Lavallée completed a 3-year small animal surgery residency and Masters of Science degree at WCVM in 2020 and completed his small animal surgery certifying exam in 2021.
While Dr. Lavallée enjoys his day-to-day surgical procedures, including orthopaedic and neurologic surgery, his true passion lies in minimally invasive procedures, soft tissue reconstructive surgeries, and surgical oncology cases. He is excited to offer total hip replacements here at Paramount, which he performs with his mentor, an experienced total joint replacement surgeon. Teaching veterinary students at the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and veterinary interns and residents at multiple institutions across North America provides Dr. Lavallée the opportunity to help foster the next generation of veterinarians.
Dr. Lavallée is a keen cyclist, video-gamer, and baker. He enjoys spending time with his partner, their two black cats and Golden Retriever.
